Midtown Jail
The jail has a fair number of strongly built jail cells and a sheriff's office. It's not very large but very secure. Recently it was made secure against magic users too. There are currently no prisoners and no long term stay has been accounted for, as it's mostly used for temporary holding. The sheriff is Sam Humphreys, a wizard detective from the Harry Dresden universe. He is usually not in but has a ghost assistant (Effie Perrine) that will take your complaint and contact him when needed. Sam is rather nondescript with an average build, brownish hair, and mixed color eyes. He usually wears a slightly rumpled brown coat and hat, and is often seen riding the trains for no apparent reason though usually no one notices such an average looking man.
The sheriff also has eight deputies that help him patrol the Midtown area; Cheval the centaur, Ulf the wolf, Horace Green the Excelsior Factory grounds keeper and his assistant Fitch the faun, Brownspot and Shadow the platinum mustels, Serrif the selkie, and Baldur Odinson the dwarf (and head of Harbor Security at Rocky Port).
