Lord Kyuketsuki’s Castle
(Kyuketsuki Kyo no Shiro)
On a high bluff above Lake Shinzoko, in a southern promontory of the Chushinchiku Mountain Range, sits the castle of the vampire lord, Lord Kyuketsuki. It is a european, mostly gothic, style castle designed by Lady Reiwana, heiress of the Chitsuki (Blood-moon) vampire clan, and wife of Lord Kyuketsuki, who is head of the Kagehaka (Shadow-tomb) vampire clan, and now the First Blood or Lord of all of the vampire clans, and is situated on a dark, misty, outcrop of the central mountains that protrudes into the center of the lake. The dark turrets and pinnacles of the castle standing on the outcrop often barely show through the gray mists like phantoms. Unlike the sunlit beauty of Kiryusiro, the castle of Lord Kyuketsuki has a dark, almost eerie elegance. There Lord Kyuketsuki runs the vampire families much like a mafia Don, and lives in the luxury his wealth can afford with his wife and son, Ketsueki. After the War of Kiryushiro Lord Kyuketsuki and lady Reiwana adopted their son’s companion and friend, Yorutsubasa, as their own son, along with an orphaned vampire girl, Ran. They are also good friends with Lien Hua and Conchobhar because the two saved their son and his friend from Daraku.(Kyuketsuki Kyo no Shiro)
